Individual Counselling Therapy

Counselling is a collaborative and supportive process that can assist you in making desired changes in your life. Through counselling, you may wish to explore aspects of yourself or your past experience, consider potential solutions to challenges, articulate goals and find methods of achieving them, and/or gain skills for better self-regulation and interpersonal communication.

For life to be full and meaningful we have to identify the unique mix of elements that are congruent with our context/reality, our relationships, our true self and our purpose. I work with clients on issues of life purpose / meaning, loss and grief and relationships. I am here to walk beside you, to help you live a life of your own design so you can say yes to life. I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists (ACCT).

It is your task to define what makes life worth living, and to create your own identity. On your path, you are confronted with tasks, like work and intimacy, and challenges, like loss (divorce, death, unemployment etc). You have to walk your own path. I am here to support you for those times when you need someone to walk beside you.

Despite failed relationships, humans seem driven to seek them out. How can you make this one different than the last? Perhaps by viewing conflict as an important part of the process. When you work through conflict together you learn to trust each other without blaming and without abandoning.

I hope to offer you a warm, and open space where I am able to support you through your therapeutic journey, while you are in the drivers seat. I offer an emotionally focused and person-centred approach, meaning that the client is encouraged and guided to take hold of their life and become masters of their own destinies.

I am thrilled to be pursuing my candidature as a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC-C) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) and continue to further my knowledge and education in sexual abuse and eating disorders.

I believe that offering empathy, understanding, curiosity and empowerment are staple roots in supporting individuals to regain autotomy and fulfilment in their lives.
